Oakland University held its annual students' ball at Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester Hills, MI and Goofy Faces was there to draw caricatures of many of the happy couples. Students watched each other being drawn during the 4-hour event and enjoyed taking their caricatures home.

The
Detroit Red Wings recently hired
Goofy Faces to draw caricatures during the School Assembly Program Fundraiser held at Joe Louis Arena. Two artists drew happy school children and their parents for 2.5 hours using one of two available hockey templates.

Goofy Faces was invited to draw graduating seniors from Mt. Clemens High School. It was the first outdoor event of the season and fortunately there was no rain. Congratulations to the class of 2011!

Without a doubt, June is our busiest month at Goofy faces. Between wedding receptions, all-night high school parties and company picnics we average 3 to 5 events booked every weekend. The most popular events we do in June are graduation parties. Our
caricature artists are a huge hit at high school grad parties whether they are held in a backyard or inside a banquet hall. Guests love watching the artist in action as much as they enjoy getting their own caricature drawn.

Last Thursday, Berkshire Middle School held their first
PastaPalooza fundraiser and Goofy Faces was there to help add some fun and raise money for the school. 3 Goofy Faces Artists were on hand for 2 hours to draw students and parents in exchange for donations. Instead of our normal hourly fee, each artist accepted tips and split them with the school for the fundraiser. Goofy Faces raised over $100 in 2 hours and entertained everyone in attendance. If you have an organization that wants to add some fun and raise money, contact us during our off season and we may be able to help you out as well!

For the past 2 days, Goofy Faces was on had to draw students at
Oakland Community College-Auburn Hills as part of their welcome week for the new semester. Each day, Robert spent 2 hours drawing new and returning students in exchange for their contact info for the college. Not a bad trade off! Students were happy to oblige and the student life department now has a bunch of new leads for their services.

It's that time of year once again when high schools across the U.S. hold senior all-night parties or lock-in parties. It varies from state-to-state but the goal is the same: offer graduating high school seniors a fun, safe alternative to throwing their own parties or bashes on their own. They must be working because they have been around here in Michigan since I was a senior. That was...at least a couple decades ago! This is my 24th year in a row drawing at senior all-night parties. The kids all look the same age and I keep getting older. All these parties occur over a 2 or 3 week period at the end end of the senior school year. So many of these events happen on consecutive nights in early June. This means most caricature artists, as well as other entertainers, become night owls for the beginning of the summer. Senior All-night parties begin as late as 11PM and last until 5AM! So few of us sleep much in early June. You think by now, I'd be used to this but it can hit you like a ton of bricks every year. And getting older doesn't help much. Here are photos from 2 recent All-nighters; One from Brandon High school and last night at Clawson High school. As always, the lines were long, the kids were happy and everyone enjoyed their caricatures. Students are much bolder than many other guests so it allows many of us caricature artists to get a little wilder with our drawing.
