Speaking on Art of Caricature at TTI/Vanguard: NextGens Technology Conference

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, December 20, 2011

This year I was offered an amazing opportunity to speak at the TTI/Vanguard: NextGens Technologies Conference in Miami, Florida at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. TTI/Vanguard is a unique forum for senior-level executives that links strategic technology planning to business success. Their conferences are about discovering technological possibilities for the 21st century. Five times annually, corporate and government leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and academicians come together to envision the future's future technologically. In highly interactive sessions, led by a world-class Advisory Board—John Perry Barlow, Maria Bezaitis, Gordon Bell, Peter Cochrane, Deborah Estrin, Eric Haseltine, Michael Hawley, Alan Kay, Leonard Kleinrock, Douglas Lenat, Robert Lucky, Nicholas Negroponte, and David Reed—and today's most influential thought leaders, debate is stimulated, and breakthrough ideas flourish.

Being around such innovative individuals was intimidating, to say the least. Having to give a presentation on the art of caricature to a group like this was even more nerve-racking. However, the presentation went off without a hitch and many attendees complimented me on my performance. In addition to speaking and networking, I also drew at one of their events on the last evening of the conference. Guests lined up to be drawn by one of the speakers which was a unique opportunity for them as well as myself!

Updated Self-Portrait Cariacture

Robert Bauer - Monday, February 28, 2011

Well after collecting so many awesome caricatures from other great caricature artists, it was time to do another one on my own. It's been 6 years since I drew the last one so I was overdue. I draw this one in Photoshop after installing more RAM in my computer today and it sure made it much easier to work on.

Recently a new customer from Victoria, Australia placed an order online for our San Francisco Special. The long distance wasn't an issue since the final caricature was emailed to her in plenty of time for her friend's birthday celebration.

Rochester Chop House Caricature Memorial

Robert Bauer - Thursday, January 20, 2011

For those of you who live in or near Rochester, Michigan, you probably have dined at the Rochester Chop House at some point in your life. It's a classic steak house with top-grade chops and seafood which has been around for decades. It was recently featured in the film Another Happy Day, starring Demi Moore. One of the unique features inside the chop house is a collection of pencil-drawn caricatures hanging on every wall throughout the dining room. There are over 50 drawings decorating the walls and Robert Bauer has been providing many of them for the past 6 years. Recently, the chophouse had a special request. One of its long-time loyal customers is dying, and is only expected to survive another week or less. A friend of his contacted the Chop House about adding his caricature to the wall as a memorial. So Robert drew up this sketch in record time in order to allow the customer a chance to see it before it was too late. We hope he enjoys the caricature with him and his wife and that his friends and family will always think of him every time they visit the Rochester Chop House.

Happy Holidays 2010!

Robert Bauer - Thursday, December 02, 2010

Each year, Lentine Mortgage orders a custom color caricature to use as their holiday invite to their company Christmas Party. They have ordered an annual holiday caricature for the past 6 years now and each year they request a unique Christmas theme. This year's request was the Nutcracker Suite. Goofy Faces caricatures are very popular during the holidays. Many people order their own family caricature from our website to use as their Christmas card. Others hire our artists to come and entertain at the holiday parties. It's not too late. Want a caricature? Drop us a line!

40th Birthday Party Goofy Faces

Robert Bauer - Friday, July 09, 2010
cartoon caricatures

Recently Goofy Faces was hired to draw a birthday gift cartoon caricature for Cindy who turned 40. In addition to the gift caricature, Phil decided to hire Goofy Faces to come and draw guests live at the party. The party was a smash with the caricature artist working an extra hour in order to draw everyone who wanted their own goofy face!
