Speaking on Art of Caricature at TTI/Vanguard: NextGens Technology Conference

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, December 20, 2011

This year I was offered an amazing opportunity to speak at the TTI/Vanguard: NextGens Technologies Conference in Miami, Florida at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. TTI/Vanguard is a unique forum for senior-level executives that links strategic technology planning to business success. Their conferences are about discovering technological possibilities for the 21st century. Five times annually, corporate and government leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and academicians come together to envision the future's future technologically. In highly interactive sessions, led by a world-class Advisory Board—John Perry Barlow, Maria Bezaitis, Gordon Bell, Peter Cochrane, Deborah Estrin, Eric Haseltine, Michael Hawley, Alan Kay, Leonard Kleinrock, Douglas Lenat, Robert Lucky, Nicholas Negroponte, and David Reed—and today's most influential thought leaders, debate is stimulated, and breakthrough ideas flourish.

Being around such innovative individuals was intimidating, to say the least. Having to give a presentation on the art of caricature to a group like this was even more nerve-racking. However, the presentation went off without a hitch and many attendees complimented me on my performance. In addition to speaking and networking, I also drew at one of their events on the last evening of the conference. Guests lined up to be drawn by one of the speakers which was a unique opportunity for them as well as myself!

Network After Work Quick Caricature Drawings

Robert Bauer - Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Networking is so important for small businesses. It gives them an opportunity to spread the word about their services and products and exposes them to new ideas. They can also be a lot of fun. Network After Work is a group that hosts events across the country. They get a great turn out and attendees get color-coded tags to tell you what industry they are from. Robert Bauer recently attended an after work party held at Barrios Mexican Cantina in Birmingham, MI. He delighted guests with quick sketches he drew on small cards that included all his contact info for Goofy Faces. Just another great marketing idea to help people remember who you are. Full Color Custom Caricatures for Stars & Stripes Gymnastic Banquet

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Goofy Faces was recently hired to draw full color caricatures at the Stars & Stripes Gymnastic Banquet held at the Fountains Golf & Banquet Center in Clarkston, MI. In order to get all 36 gymnasts finished in under 4 hours, a template was created for the first time that included color. Each body was preprinted with the color already there so only the faces needed to be drawn live and colored. It was a great success and now is another option for customers everywhere!
