Al Kaline Caricature

Robert Bauer - Sunday, December 20, 2009

Last night I had the distinct pleasure of entertaining at a private party which celebrated former Detroit Tiger, Al Kaline's 75th birthday. I took the time to prepare a personal caricature of him to give as a gift at the party. Mr. Kaline is a very gracious and kind gentleman who even signed an extra copy of the caricature so I could add it to my collection.  Happy Birthday, Al!

Renaissance Club Fireworks Party!

Robert Bauer - Saturday, June 27, 2009

Every year, over a  million people fill up downtown Detroit to witness a spectacular fireworks show at the end of June. The Target Fireworks, choreographed by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, is one of the world’s most spectacular and largest fireworks display in the nation with more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects lighting up the international skyline over the Detroit River. Many businesses host their own viewing party since there are several skyscrapers downtown with excellent viewing for the show. This year, the Renaissance Club located in the Renaissance Center hired Goofy Faces to draw caricatures of attending families before the fireworks began.
This was the 2nd year in a row that attendees enjoyed having their faces drawn while awaiting the big show. Helping out this year was my son, Andrew, who took some pictures in order to be on hand to watch the annual event from one of the best viewing sppots in the city!
