The
Detroit Red Wings recently hired
Goofy Faces to draw caricatures during the School Assembly Program Fundraiser held at Joe Louis Arena. Two artists drew happy school children and their parents for 2.5 hours using one of two available hockey templates.

Wing Nuts were out in full force on a chilly Sunday afternoon to celebrate everything about the
Detroit Red Wings. Goofy Faces was there with 4 artists drawing guests of the event non-stop for 4 straight hours. Fans were able to choose between a forward or goalie pose which Goofy Faces preprinted for the event. In total, the four artists drew over 200 guests of the event.
Go Wings!

Guests of the
Motor City Casino celebrated the arrival of 2011 in style at a V.I.P. event hosted by the casino and Goofy Faces was there to entertain them with the last caricatures of 2010. Couples enjoyed both artists for over 3 hours before the final countdown. Happy New Year everyone!

It's that time of year for annual holiday parties. Goofy Faces was at it again at the Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit drawing caricatures at the
Ilitch Holdings annual Christmas Party. Employees of Little Caesars, the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers enjoyed getting their caricatures drawn for 4 hours. This year, there were 11 artists set up in 2 groups. (
the 12th artist was sick)

Today was the annual meeting and trade show for the
Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau held at the fabulous
Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. After a 2-year absence, the DMCVB decided to include the trade show as part of the annual meeting. Goofy Faces was on hand once again to delight attendees with caricatures before and after the meeting. Our caricature artists make an excellent addition to any convention or trade show. And they are available nationwide.

Once a year, the
Detroit Tigers hold a fan festival at
Comerica Park called
Tigerfest! Thousands of fans head out to the ball park to collect autographs from players, purchase baseball memorabilia and celebrate baseball in the wintertime. Goofy Faces was there to draw attendees for 5 hours and stayed very busy the entire time. Kids and their parents enjoyed being drawn together or separate and each drawing was titled with the year and name of the event so everyone remembered where they got their caricature!

Last night I had the distinct pleasure of entertaining at a private party which celebrated former Detroit Tiger,
Al Kaline's 75th birthday. I took the time to prepare a personal caricature of him to give as a gift at the party. Mr. Kaline is a very gracious and kind gentleman who even signed an extra copy of the caricature so I could add it to my collection. Happy Birthday, Al!

Last night was Ilitch Holdings annual employee holiday party held at the Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit. Employees from Olympia Entertainment, Little Caesars Pizza, The Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers all enjoyed the celebration which was directed by
Events to Envy. This annual event has been happening for many years now and every time we do it, all the artists look forward to drawing there. This year, we had 11 artists total drawing caricatures around the arena. Guests also enjoyed a buffet, photos with Santa, magicians, face painters, barn animals and were even allowed to skate on the ice where the Red Wings play.

Every year, over a million people fill up downtown Detroit to witness a spectacular fireworks show at the end of June. The Target Fireworks, choreographed by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, is one of the world’s most spectacular and largest fireworks display in the nation with more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects lighting up the international skyline over the Detroit River. Many businesses host their own viewing party since there are several skyscrapers downtown with excellent viewing for the show. This year, the Renaissance Club located in the Renaissance Center hired Goofy Faces to draw caricatures of attending families before the fireworks began. This was the 2nd year in a row that attendees enjoyed having their faces drawn while awaiting the big show. Helping out this year was my son, Andrew, who took some pictures in order to be on hand to watch the annual event from one of the best viewing sppots in the city!
