ISCA Caricature Convention 2011

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, December 20, 2011

This year's annual caricature convention was a very special one. The International Society of Caricature Artists celebrated it's 20 anniversary at the Tradewinds Resort on St. Pete Beach, Florida. Over 125 artists attended and competed for the top awards in the caricature business. This was my first convention in 6 years in which I was simply an attendee after serving on the board since 2005. It was nice to have time to draw for a change as well as get drawn by many other talented artists. My theme for my gallery this year was "If I were Batman...". The samples shown here are some funny versions of a few artist friends of mine who have also worked for Goofy Faces in the past.

Trade Show Caricatures for NAMA 2011

Robert Bauer - Thursday, May 05, 2011

Once again Goofy Faces was on-hand at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's annual trade show held at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago drawing m&m caricatures for Mars Chocolate, North America. For 2 consecutive days, both artists kept busy drawing m&m caricatures of attendees from all over the world. Goofy Faces even got a chance to have some fun while  Messin' with Sasquatch!

Caricatures at the DMCVB Annual Meeting & Tradeshow 2010

Robert Bauer - Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Today was the annual meeting and trade show for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau held at the fabulous Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. After a 2-year absence, the DMCVB decided to include the trade show as part of the annual meeting.  Goofy Faces was on hand once again to delight attendees with caricatures before and after the meeting. Our caricature artists make an excellent addition to any convention or trade show. And they are available nationwide.

Caricatures of Me.

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, November 10, 2009

One of the perks of being the president of ISCA [International Society of Caricature Artists], is that I get to meet so many gifted artists who are willing to draw me during our annual convention.  Here is a small sample of the caricatures of me that I brought home from the convention this year.  Top left was illustrated by Fred Harper. Top right is Court Jones.  Lower left is Sam Viviano from MAD Magazine. Bottom right is from Tom Richmond who also illustrates for MAD Magazine. The originals are much larger than these blog versions. I will keep them and add them to my growing collection!

ISCA Convention Gone MAD

Robert Bauer - Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Last week, I had the pleasure of welcoming 4 outstanding artists from MAD Magazine at this year's annual ISCA caricature convention. Pictured here from left to right are Herman Meija, Sam Viviano, myself, Mark Frederickson and Tom Richmond. Each gave wonderful presentations about their art and careers and lots of anecdotes about working for MAD Magazine.  This year's annual convention took place at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. Tom and Sam were even kind enough to draw me during the convention which I will post here separately.
