Another Holiday Season is upon us and Goofy Faces has been very busy this year. More businesses have booked our artists for their company parties than they did a year ago. Many families have also hired us to liven up their get-togethers at home. Above are a few samples from this year's events.
This year's annual caricature convention was a very special one. The International Society of Caricature Artists celebrated it's 20 anniversary at the Tradewinds Resort on St. Pete Beach, Florida. Over 125 artists attended and competed for the top awards in the caricature business. This was my first convention in 6 years in which I was simply an attendee after serving on the board since 2005. It was nice to have time to draw for a change as well as get drawn by many other talented artists. My theme for my gallery this year was "If I were Batman...". The samples shown here are some funny versions of a few artist friends of mine who have also worked for Goofy Faces in the past.
Goofy Faces was invited to draw caricatures at DMI's Holiday Party that they throw each year in Chicago for their clients from around the country. This year's party took place at the LaSalle Power Company, featuring a dual piano bar. Happy Holidays!
It's officially time to get excited for this year's annual ISCA caricature convention in St. Pete Beach, November 13th to the 18th! This marks the 20th anniversary of the one and only official caricature convention in the world.
Networking is so important for small businesses. It gives them an opportunity to spread the word about their services and products and exposes them to new ideas. They can also be a lot of fun. Network After Work is a group that hosts events across the country. They get a great turn out and attendees get color-coded tags to tell you what industry they are from. Robert Bauer recently attended an after work party held at Barrios Mexican Cantina in Birmingham, MI. He delighted guests with quick sketches he drew on small cards that included all his contact info for Goofy Faces. Just another great marketing idea to help people remember who you are.
