The Advertising Federation of Louisville held its annual awards celebration for ad agencies and creatives called the Louie Awards. They had four of our artists on-hand to entertain guests during the event. Their theme this year was big heads and big egos, perfect material for a bunch of caricature artists!
Today was the annual meeting and trade show for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau held at the fabulous Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. After a 2-year absence, the DMCVB decided to include the trade show as part of the annual meeting. Goofy Faces was on hand once again to delight attendees with caricatures before and after the meeting. Our caricature artists make an excellent addition to any convention or trade show. And they are available nationwide.
I was invited to draw caricatures over Valentine's Day Weekend at the remarkable Otsego Club & Resort in Gaylord, Michigan. It's a fantastic place to get away, especially if you enjoy skiing or snow boarding. The views were spectacular and the food was great as well. The facilities are also top-notch. The U.S. Olympic Snowboarding team trained here! Guests enjoyed being drawn all weekend long as well.
Wednesday afternoon was the 9th Annual Vendor Showcase for the University Event Planners of Michigan held at the Kensington Court in Ann Arbor. Goofy Faces was on hand as one of the new vendors showcasing their talents to attendees. Guests were not disappointed as our booth wound up staying open 30 minutes past the ending time in order to accommodate those who patiently waited to get their caricature drawn. Hopefully, Goofy Faces will get to spend more out in Ann Arbor at some of their upcoming events!
Once a year, the Detroit Tigers hold a fan festival at Comerica Park called Tigerfest! Thousands of fans head out to the ball park to collect autographs from players, purchase baseball memorabilia and celebrate baseball in the wintertime. Goofy Faces was there to draw attendees for 5 hours and stayed very busy the entire time. Kids and their parents enjoyed being drawn together or separate and each drawing was titled with the year and name of the event so everyone remembered where they got their caricature!
Last Thursday, Berkshire Middle School held their first PastaPalooza fundraiser and Goofy Faces was there to help add some fun and raise money for the school. 3 Goofy Faces Artists were on hand for 2 hours to draw students and parents in exchange for donations. Instead of our normal hourly fee, each artist accepted tips and split them with the school for the fundraiser. Goofy Faces raised over $100 in 2 hours and entertained everyone in attendance. If you have an organization that wants to add some fun and raise money, contact us during our off season and we may be able to help you out as well!
Goofy Faces is pleased to announce the addition of our newest retail location at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, Florida. Now visitors and members of the aquarium can have their caricature drawn while they wait every weekend until March and then daily all through the summer. This aquarium has many exciting exhibits, almost all of which are indigenous to Florida. Make sure to visit them on your next trip to the Tampa Bay Area!
For the past 2 days, Goofy Faces was on had to draw students at Oakland Community College-Auburn Hills as part of their welcome week for the new semester. Each day, Robert spent 2 hours drawing new and returning students in exchange for their contact info for the college. Not a bad trade off! Students were happy to oblige and the student life department now has a bunch of new leads for their services.
Recently, Goofy Faces was on hand to draw at both a Bar Mitzvah and a Bat Mitzvah all in one weekend. The difference between the two is that a Bar Mitzvah is for a boy while a Bat Mitzvah is celebrated for a girl. Either way, having caricatures is always a huge hit at any Mitzvah you're planning. Goofy Faces had one artist at the Bar Mitzvah and 2 artists for the Bat Mitzvah.
